It is difficult to predict things in a region that is so unstable. I do not think the United States can ignore this. The possibility for a terrorist group of having a country of operations has global implications.

One could speculate all day long and give themselves a headache, but in my opinion, had Al Qaeda not had Afghanistan as there country of operations they could not have pulled off the 9/11 attacks. I do think they would have tried regardless, but would not have been successful.

I think sending troops back should be a last resort, but i believe it would be foolish to ignore the problem with the hope it will go away.Response by LCpl Steve Wininger made Jul 10 at 2014 12:56 PM2014-07-10T12:56:03-04:002014-07-10T12:56:03-04:002014-07-10T11:54:28-04:00
