What "Hot Topics" do you think the Presidential Candidates should focus on?

This is NOT about Republican this and Democrat that. I just wanted to get an idea on what RallyPoint thinks the new POTUS should focus on when he/she is elected to office. TOPICS

I think one of the first things, of course, is focusing on America's economy and how we might fix the job sector. For instance, the Alaskan Pipeline would create job opportunities while making the US less reliable on any other Country. We also need to get that "Middle Class" back. I see it as upper and lower at the moment. How will they create jobs!!??

The Military men and women. The VA. This hasn't been brought up by many of the candidates. This should be a big concern. How is the next POTUS going to take care of their Veterans? What changes, for the better, will they make to the VA?

We need to focus on our borders. What can we do to keep terrorists out, Americans in. (Stopping Americans from joining forces such as ISIS) How do we deal with those that have came in illegally? What can we do to make it less "appealing" to those that are choosing TO cross illegally?

I also think that ISIS/ISIL should be a topic to tackle. What are the plans? How are we going to defeat them? Are we going to put troops on the ground? Will we declare "war" on the radical Islamists once again?

Healthcare. Are we going to keep ObamaCare? Are we going to repeal it? I mean, this is a big problem. I have been with a company for 2 years as a temp because they couldn't afford the insurance. I actually had to sign a piece of paper saying that I opted out. It shouldn't be that way. I think it is really killing the smaller businesses.

Anyways, that is just my two cents. What is yours??

Push initiatives, grants and funding for improved community policing and police training.
Reducing health care costs now that AHA is apparently here to stay
Keeping US citizens safer abroad
Foreign policy on Russia, ISIS, China, NK and other hot spots
Strengthening the borders, stricter policies and penalties for illegal immigration

The next President needs to fix many things.
Our foreign trade policies so that they discourage American companies from out sourcing labor and materials from beyond our borders, this will create jobs and help stabilize the Economy. These policies also must level the playing field so that when foreign produced products that cost very little because they pay their workers next to nothing when compare to similar American made products that cost more because we pay our workers fairly.
Immigration and border security need to be fixed. Allowing countless individuals come a crossed our borders unchecked is not only bad for the economy, and brings in literally tons of illegal drugs on a daily basis, it is a huge security breach inviting a large scale terrorist attack at any time. People need to be made to come here legally bottom line. To come here illegally is exactly as it sounds. Illegal! We have to stop tearing our culture down because it makes some one upset. If you move to America then don’t cry when you can’t read a sign in English, or get upset that a dinner has a sign that depicts bacon, nobody said you had to come here.
Our next President needs to firm with dealing with other world Leaders, when they try to push us around we need to push back. Currently we are not viewed in a good light by the global community when as a nation we do more to help this world than the rest of the world’s nations combined. On top of that, the consumer power of America alone can make or break most countries, let’s use that to our advantage.
Our land is divided and needs to heal. To do that we need reestablish trust and confidence in our police force, while at the same time allow them to do their jobs.

1. Our economy is either neutral or in decline depending on the economist you talk to, what measures will you take to bring the nation back to prosperity?
2. Part of the nation’s economic issues stem from lack of participation in the work force. We have seen an exponential growth in public assistance enrollment while also experiencing a nearly opposite trend in work force participation. Getting America back to work should be a priority in building the nation back to prosperity. What are your plans to reverse these trends and enable the best workforce in the world?
3. Our nation is in cultural dishevel. What are your plans to:
a. Restore trust in our law enforcement departments in disgruntled populations
b. Restore a sense of pride in our country and it’s advancements and accomplishments and bring each representative group in our culture into one American culture
c. Stop the encroachment on free speech and assure that disagreement is encouraged as a means in strengthening agreement through debate
d. Preserve all of the rights granted by our creator and codified through the Constitution and its amendments

SGT Private RallyPoint Member .... I think they need to focus on Americans before their party platforms and agendas... That is deal with the problems at hand, and not pet their (or party) agendas. I want a President who actually cares about us... "We the people... Of the people, for the people..."

That said, I think:

1. Job creation; bring business and industry back to U.S soil.

2. Reducing those on government subsidies... see 1 above.

3. Security and Defense. Getting our regional allies to take the lead on regional issues, and focussing on security here.

4. Rapidly reducing the national debt and the size of the federal government - vs. growing it.

5. Energy independence... I don't mean wind, solar, geo-thermal... (those are all good), but I mean more nuclear power generation, and eliminating our need to get oil from anywhere but here...

1. Entitlement reform. Involuntary spending is over 60% of the budget, social security, Medicare and Medicaid are the biggest.
2. Debt policy, as debt grows it squeezed out every other spending priority.
3. Political money spending vs free speech, the richer candidate wins 95% of the time do we want this for our politics?
4. The social consequences of the inevitable economic disruption of automation, we will likely see unemployment above 20% in the next 10 years, mostly out of the middle class.
5. The mechanics of our representative system, electoral college, first past the post and the two party system. These all lead to voter disengagement and increased danger of significant dissent.
Maybe one or two of these will be marginally mentioned. Maybe.

I think the country as a whole has been heading in a bad direction for many years. I think whoever takes on the job really has their work cut out for them. There are so many areas in need of improvement and I'm not really confident anyone is capable of accomplishing this task. So many special interest groups get in the way of what's best for the majority and I think it's getting to the point where is almost beyond repair. People look for the "fix" to happen in one or two terms. It's going to take years and regardless of political affiliation, it's time we all realize this country is falling way short of its potential. We need someone to step in and have a sincere interest in progress for all of us and their concern should start with us.... U.S being the U.S.!! I have my fingers crossed and can only hope someone truly worthy of the position is the one who makes it there. So far I'm not impressed by anyone from either party and can only pray it's not Clinton!!

His mental psychology *wtfe cuz he is very smart and if his job included making music he'd be in* is why he doesn't work. So able. Such a bullshit answer. On welfare in Michigan. He tried to move to Texas along with his "psychological and"""physical""problems and guess where he's back at? MI. Didn't work very well here in Texas.

Absolutely agree with shutting the borders. What makes me angry is that there ARE jobs, but because it's not something you'd love to do at the moment or you are simply not qualified, well the buck stops there. They don't wanna work or educate themselves.

Gotta rebuild army military! There are a lot is high stakes when playing the ISIS/ISIL game. I mean look at the law regarding negotiation with terrorists that just passed. Freaking unbelievable. I can go on and on but gotta stop here. Baby girl is ready for bed! But you are right on!

I've been saying for years that I would vote for the first guy that stands up and says "That issue is none of the FEDERAL government's business, next question."

Apply that one to gun control (because lets face it a law that works for Manhattan doesn't work for Alaska). There are quite a few "hot button" topics that I'd love to see that philosophy applied to.

I would appreciate our elected officials fulfilling the promises made to our Military, Active and Veterans.. Why Honorably serve our country if in fact you return home, with much less than you had when you agreed to put yourself in harms way with the PROMISE of care ?? NOT scandals, delays, denials, excuses after excuses, and your state representatives ignore your request for help !! You Honorably serve, you are Spat on by civilians, you are called all sorts of vile words, You come down with cancers, heart disease, you are delayed, and denied help, VA receives bonuses, and declares it has to have 2.5 billion, or it will close hospitals !! WHAT IF ACTIVE MILITARY PULLED THIS SORT OF CRAP ????
