What historical military figure do you wish you could have or presently meet?

I have many. Gen. Eisenhower. Chesty Puller. Audience Murphy. Admiral Nimitz...to name a few, also General Lee, Abraham Lincoln, General Washington, Genghis Khan(sp?), and Sun Tzu.

Ike and Patton are near the top of my list. it would also be interesting to meet Napoleon and Rommel. I admit I would have liked to look Hitler in the eyes to see just how much of a mad man he may have been. (and then shake his hand with a grenade).

SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member I would like to meet General and later President George Washington and General Charles Cornwallis. Likewise, from our Revolutionary war I would like to meet and learn tactics from Francis Marion "the Swamp Fox." From a foreign perspective I would like to meet Frederick the Great and Miyamato Musashi. From the middle portion of American history, I would like to meet Colonel and later President Theodore Roosevelt, Fleet Admiral William D. Leahy, SgtMaj Dan Daly, and General of the Armies John J. "Black Jack" Pershing. Finally, I would enjoy having a long discussion with BGen Jimmy Stewart.

I would be honored to meet LTG (Ret) Hal Moore and CSM Plumley. I would also like to meet many of the Airborne Division commanders of WWII (Gen Ridgeway, Gen Gavin).

I would like to meet the Revolutionary leaders and the Civil War leaders and understand what it was that really made them fight. I mean we read in the history books about what their motives and feeling were, but it would be great to get it first hand.

Wow. I can say there are many .
To start I have already met 2 Comander in Chiefs , both veterans , I had the honor and pleasure to meet and speak with Adm. Zumwalt , and one day sitting at Walter Reed hospital , waiting for my daughters check up, I was outside sitting in a bench with an elderly man , I asked him if he was Army or Marine , he smiled and said. ARMY!!!
We talked about D-Day and Omaha beach
He knew everything about all of the invasion plans and told me he was not only friends with Gen. Ike. But served with him and also knew Gen. Patton. Personally , I asked to many question I'm sure , but he answered every one snd seemed to enjoy it .
Turns out that old veteran was none other than one of my favorite WWII Herod , Gen. Bradley
An amazing man , he asked if my father was an ARMY or marine veteran , I told him my father and his brother were Narines , that they fought on Iwo, and Okie
That my father was also one of Chesty pullers boys in Korea at chosen rev.,
Gen. Bradley put his hand out and asked me to salute my father and shake his hand for him .
I did not have the heart to tell him that my father was murderd in 1957
Meeting these men and others like Adm. Bulkelly has been a very interesting point in my life .
I love to study history , but I have also been able to live it and talk to history first hand
I do feel blessed by this
