What have you decided to do for employment after the military?

With such a giant amount of options, what have you decided to do for employment after separating from the military? Did it require relocation? Are you satisfied with your decision?

I'm going to teach highschool history and coach a sport, any sport. My ideal sport would be basketball, either boys or girls, it doesnt matter.

I decided to look into jobs that directly relate to my passions of fitness, IT, and music production. Therefore, I'm working as a health coach, doing a lot of IT training outside of college, and working on music copyrights.

Army or DoD civilian. Can't beat it: As a DA civilian, I'm still affiliated with and working for my beloved Army. I've been doing this since retirement, almost ten years, and I love it.

I retired after 24 years and now work as a field service engineer for a German company, Trumpf. I install and service 2D CNC solid-state laser machines that cut metal. Life on the road is not that bad - everything is paid for by the company. Anyone with a strong electronics/mechanical maintenance background could do this job fairly easily.

I weighed my options, and considered various opportunities. Many high-paying jobs (like petroleum transport, DOD civilian, among others) sounded like a pretty great lifestyle, but I know what I want to do long term is act.

While I'm on active duty, I'll get my bachelor's in Business Operations, and hopefully a teaching certificate as well. But once I transition into reserves, I'll have my Montgomery Bill and attend Julliard or Carnegie Mellon. I'd love to appear in film or television while earning my 30 in the reserves. That's the plan!
