However, they don&#39;t have to and I have seen them just re-assign you to the shortage they want to fill, like 11B. In the Navy, it is said one will become a boatswain mate. But in reality one might get chance to change occupation. I came in to be a EW, but walked out as AT. You are generally given a list of four MOS. I have seen UAV Repair (that was a big one for a while), Ammunition Specialist, Vet tech. It really depends on the flavor of the month and where they need you. At one point I’ve even seen separation. Not likely anymore though. The Army need troops.
