What happens when you are academically dropped from the EOD program? Are there any in-demand MOSs I should consider?

In general, they will give you a list of shortage MOS's that would be easier to pass than one you just messed up to chose. However, they don't have to and I have seen them just re-assign you to the shortage they want to fill, like 11B.

Combat engineer or grunt... they both take care of explosives (fingers in ears... stomp the ground)

It will be A OK, private. In the Navy, it is said one will become a boatswain mate. But in reality one might get chance to change occupation. I came in to be a EW, but walked out as AT. Sorry for the cliche but everything happens for a resason.

accepting a drop means that your at the mercy of the "Green Machine", they will put you where they need you according to the needs of the Army, most soldiers go to 88M. Good Luck.

If you fail out of EOD they put you where the Army needs you. You are generally given a list of four MOS. I have seen UAV Repair (that was a big one for a while), Ammunition Specialist, Vet tech. It really depends on the flavor of the month and where they need you.

!. If you have failed your MOS school, then the Army will assign you WHERE they want you- YOU HAVE NO CHOICE!

Yep, pretty much needs of the Army at that point. At one point I’ve even seen separation. Not likely anymore though. The Army need troops.

If you fail any MOS schools- you will be re-assigned based on the needs of the service- NOT what you want/desire.
