You don&#39;t want to put someone in a position where they might have to give a family member orders that put them in harms way. That said, it&#39;s not that uncommon. I knew a USAF SSgt who married a Capt. Ad there is a MAJ in my unit now who is married to a COL in one of the other units in our BDE.
