What happened to the FST?

I believe the rigorous of the FST fell away now that our evac times are usually under 15min from site. Honestly what our men and women do on those medivac teams are absolutely outstanding work. So with those quick times casualties are getting to 3rd level role extreamly fast.

I guess welcome to the new generation of the Military lower standards, it's become a warm body policy like civilian employer's.

I disagree. I have had FST Soldiers who performed well and who have not and it had nothing to do with the recruitment process. FSTs are no different than any other small unit, it takes the entire team. By your past experience, it sounds like you were fortunate enough to have a great team. I truly believe that the training program, esprit de corps and leadership play the most critical role on developing the team's talent. If someone is "bottom of the barrel", then they need to have the deficiencies identified and trained to meet the standard. There is no hiding in the FST. Having said that, I just took a FST downrange with new and experienced Soldiers and by my assessment, there past experience had little to do with overall performance. Most was having the right attitude and a strong desire to learn.

by design... by design. We are a nation in leftivist decline and since officers don't actually have to risk their lives, that is where they are concentrated in the military. Since they run things they are putting their leftist lack of standards on everything they touch.
