What goes on when someone who’s currently in the state trooper academy gets activated? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-goes-on-when-someone-who-s-currently-in-the-state-trooper-academy-gets-activated <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Does anyone have any experience or insight on what goes on when someone who’s currently in the state trooper academy gets activated? I have 24 months of stabilization coming from active duty to National Guard, and have spent the last 24 months going through the screening process to get selected for the academy so I’d prefer to complete it. Getting selected for the state trooper academy is tough. I haven&#39;t gone through it, but I have been to a law enforcement academy and have seen a little of how their training is conducted. I hope your command lets you attend it. There is no such thing as stabilization in the Guard. Doesn’t matter what they tell you. I transferred between states to a deployed Unit right after an 18 month deployment and bam, I was forced to deploy with an entirely different Battalion so they could have a full roster. That was about 6 months after I got back from deployment. At week 22, with 2 weeks to go, my National Guard MP unit was activated for Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After passing the required PT score, and being at 96 % academics, and 100 % firearms score, Missouri allowed me to take the final test a week early, and upon completion, did allow me to graduate the academy with my Class A certificate. It was unknown what would transpire upon my return, since I was the first recruit ever pulled from an Academy class. A side note, I was not commissioned until my return, about 9 months later. Had to retake the final exam to see how much State Law I remembered, then transitioned to the Glock from the Smith and Wesson 686. I was commissioned during the two week upgrade program they had decided on for the 2 of us pulled. I was then happily sent to my new work zone, and 30 years later, was retired due to age (60) in Missouri. I did not have a choice to finish my Academy due to the unit&#39;s activation for war. However, some states differ, and requirements now may not be the same as it was in my &quot;era.&quot; Good Luck, Trooper!
