I've gone from 2-3 a week to half a dozen + per day; some coming in on hijacked contact numbers. When you file a complaint, they can act on it. There are ways to put in fake phone numbers, local and LD. That capability has been available for decades. The Robocalls doing this is more recent. One problem with answering is they can tape your conversation and use your voice. I use ATT and go in and block each number that calls. Has driven it down a bit.
