My Orthopedic Surgeon and friend Maj. Jeff Jarrett put me on to RP. Jeff died awhile back from esophageal CA. After I tried it, I kept getting these motivational quotes from COL Mikel J. Burroughs and I decided to interact more. I enjoy a place that I can communicate with my military brothers and sisters.

SSG Private RallyPoint Member First contact was by a search for old Vietnam companions, but i got interested in a couple of the post and started an account . I stay with it because of the respect,camaraderie and perspectives i can get from serving and more recent members of our military about the changes occurring within it. Gives me a more candid point of view than any other sources available.

Great question SSG Private RallyPoint Member - One of the soldiers that worked for me during our deployment in OIF 05-07 sent me an invite back in January of 2014, so I joined and spent very little time on RP initially, but then I got involved with Nonprofits to help veterans after my wife's father died from Suicide on 8 Dec 2015 and I lost two soldiers to suicide that deployed with me. I became the Chairman of the Board for Victory for Veterans Foundation and 3 years ago I started the Warriors for Life (WFL) Virtual Group Support Community Services program to bring veterans and service members together for peer-to-peer support, "sharing and caring", and veterans helping veterans, in order to save lives my friend. I use RP now to make these connections, get veterans help and support, and I motivate RallyPoint Members each day through positive inspiration and motivational quotes. That is my mission. Here is what I do for veterans and what I post and share with RP Members today:

Member, Board of Directors for National Veterans Transition Service, Inc. (NVTSI). Helping Veterans successfully transition from the battlefront to the home front, NVTSI is a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) dedicated to assisting veterans in their reentry. We accomplish this by providing an early-stage cognitive-behavioral educational intervention, via a 3-week intensive workshop – REBOOT – followed by related mentoring and other services. Chairman, Board of Directors, Victory for Veterans - As the Chairman of the Board provide strategic leadership and vision toward the mission of Victory for Veterans to fund non-profits serving Veterans experiencing the emotional challenges of PTSD, depression, loneliness, anger and others that often can trigger joblessness and lead to homelessness. These factors are partial explanations for the high suicide rate among Veterans, currently around 22 per day. Check out the website:

Vice President, Military & Civilian Debt Acquisition and Relief, I am responsible for debt acquisition and relief strategies for this great non-profit organization – RIP Medical Debt. My role is to oversee the purchase of portfolios which contain military service member as well as civilian healthcare debt from major healthcare groups. This would include hospitals, healthcare debt buyers, physician groups, emergency medical services (EMS) known as ambulance and paramedic services.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, we can then formally forgive these debts at no tax consequences to the recipient. Gone: the stigma and distress of being pursued by bill collectors. All this consistent with satisfying HIPPA needs.
