1SG David Lopez510480<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I first was drawn to Rally Point because I seen a link on the Army Times website about Post Military Employment. My main intention was to try to help service members leaving the military to inform them about job openings in California. Great career, pay, all the overtime you want, benefits and retirement. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is hiring 7,000 Correctional Officers within the next three years. Military personnel are given preference (fast tracked). If you are needing a career or more importantly one of your Soldiers is exiting the military, you can help them by mentioning this to them, Thanks. We want military and college educated personnel. Get on our website to find out more. The application and all hiring information is online. It takes roughly one year to get hired, so start now. My main intention was to let Veterans active or prior service, let them know of a job/career that they qualify for.Response by 1SG David Lopez made Mar 4 at 2015 8:15 AM2015-03-04T08:15:43-05:002015-03-04T08:15:43-05:00SGT Jim Z.510810<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What drew me to Rally Point well it was the concept veterans and retirees sharing knowledge with today's service members. I like to think I add value to some conversations and hope that if one thing I say is taken to heart I am able to help then it is a bonus.Response by SGT Jim Z. made Mar 4 at 2015 8:22 AM2015-03-04T08:22:44-05:002015-03-04T08:22:44-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member510876<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>For me RP is a wealth of knowledge, networking and a place to look for guidance.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 4 at 2015 9:08 AM2015-03-04T09:08:29-05:002015-03-04T09:08:29-05:00PO1 Private RallyPoint Member510905<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Truthfully, well I kept seeing all these discussions popping up in my Facebook news feed from fellow service members liking or commenting on the Facebook thread. At first I would start commenting on the Facebook post but then I quickly learned that quite frankly I didn't give two $@!&$ about some civilian's opinion on a topic completely unrelated to them. I wanted to share my opinion with those that understood and that it directly influenced. The reason it took me so long to join is that I was a little leery of joining a community that just "anyone" can create an account, be unverified and still see/respond to discussions. However, now I have found myself quite addicted. :)Response by PO1 Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 4 at 2015 9:24 AM2015-03-04T09:24:45-05:002015-03-04T09:24:45-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member518590<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I hate FB, and some of these posts and responses resemble a train wreck. With my disability, I have a difficult time in social settings, so Rally Point gives me a way to connect with fellow soldiers, it has helped validate my feelings and points of view that civilians don't necessarily understand. It has helped me to feel closer to the fraternity that existed when I was serving. Plus less of that Facebook Malarkey.Response by SPC Nicholas Cureton made Mar 9 at 2015 10:39 AM2015-03-09T10:39:46-04:002015-03-09T10:39:46-04:002015-03-04T01:20:18-05:00
