They also measure you're waist for points. But you can't get the bare minimums on everything because you'll still fail within the points system. It all changes with age and gender as well. Are you thinking of making the switch? There is a reason I chose the Air Force over the Army. There are no differences between active and reserve requirements. More important than PT is how well to you put bullets down range? How well do you do perform in your MOS or AFS. While you may be able to run 2 miles, do push up and situps for two minutes, that goes out the window when you must turn that wrench on Aircraft, put that tank into position to attack or put bullets down range. I think the Army is on the right track to look at possible PT requirements according to MOS. We need to be thinking on what are true requirements, what are the costs, and the value added. Passing scores depend on age. Depending on your age you must complete a 1.5 mile in under 13:36, must do at least 44 push up for a max of 67 and at least 42 sit ups for a max of 58, have a waist measurement 39 inches or under for a max of 35 inches which is measured on the top of the hip bone. You must meet all "at least" numbers or you fail the test regardless of passing other areas. If you score a 90 and above you only have to test 1 time a year and if you score less than 90 you test again in 6 months for Active Duty, for Reserve and Guard you test 1 time a year regardless of your score.
