There is no way to vet them. push for temporary camps in Turkey, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, fund them with American assistance, and end the war in Syria. No military aged males in the US without convincing evidence of previous support to America.

We should take none, zip, nada, not even women and children. They teach their kids from an early age to kill infidels. The women are just as dangerous as the men. Equality and all that don’t you know. We have women wearing Ranger tabs, but women can’t also be dangerous terrorists?

I feel that it shouldn't be the responsibility of our Nation as the default. But, I guess things will never change as long as that plaque on the Statue of Liberty is so inviting. We need to harden up our Nation's security and at the same time harden our hearts a bit as well. Now is the time for disciplined emotion.

We need to remember that people from that region are the one's going off the deep end more than naught. a terrorist can look anyway, but given their affinity towards certain ideaologies such as Sharia Law; I believe that a steady resolve of meticulous background checking is called for. These people come here and make no effort to contribute to our Nation and adopt our Values. They want the eat the cake, but won't help in its preparation and the upkeep of the kitchen.

It comes down to a few fundamental issues.
1. Are there refugees that are legitimately displaced and need help? Yes
2. Are there people who are using this for an opportunity to move unhindered/unchecked? Yes
3. Do we need to develop a way to vet these refugees? Absolutely

My issue is who is paying to fly or boat these refugees all the way to the US? What sense does that make? I understand that I won't be directly responsible for housing/feeding/hosting any refugees, but I know that the system of government that I support will be. Hopefully those that are in the position to effect change will; the best we can do as responsible citizens and members of the Armed Forces is to prevent sensationalism amongst our Soldiers and family.

If, in fact, the current period for vetting refugees is two years and those procedures and scrutiny are not diluted but rather tightened up for this who have applied for status since the great exodus began then allowing ten thousand a year into the pipeline may be reasonable. That's into the pipeline, not into the country. That privilege, refugee status, would only be granted to those who have passed successfully through the process. Entry would be granted based on the order in which the original request was made. Sponsorship by qualified individuals or NGO's here in the Staes guaranteeing sustenance once the refugees have arrived should also be a requirement. Until cleared and admitted to the Staes these potential refugees would remain in place where they applied for refugee status. As with others seeking refugee status their care and shelter would be provided by NGO's and/or current host countries. Once here the refugees would have to demonstrate a desire to become part of our society by learning to speak English and initiating the naturalization process. Government assistance, if any, would be limited to a set time period, say five years(just a number).
Our SFA Chapter in Dallas is active in supporting the Montagnard refugee program in North Texas. What I've described above is remarkably similar to the process now in place for treating with Montagnard refugees from the ethnic "leveling" taking place in Viet Nam.

If the refugees can be properly identified and tracked, I have no problem with it. The issue is that realistically we know that just can't happen.
