I feel that the majority of nations that have grown to depend on the US for support and defense would say that we left them in defenseless and unprepared, as well as created a power vacuum for forces such as Al Qaeda, The Taliban, Al Shabab, ISIS, Hezbollah, etc. to take over (even though the vast majority of the civilian populace don't want US forces in their country, just the money). Sadly, I'll have to defer to GEN Powell's assessment during the Iraq Invasion "You break it, you buy it."

Europe, SA, Bahrain, UAE and Qatar would fret and stew and call us names and do nothing. Pakistan and Afghanistan would keep on like they have forever. Iran and Russia would cheer and move in.

It would be like every where else in the world. Everyone hates us while we are there, but they hate us even more when we leave them on there own. I think most of the US population are tired of being the worlds baby sitters. It would be a big wake up call for the world if we finaly said F-u, you don't want us so we are going home and taking all our toys with us.

As much as some might applaud this move overseas, I can only imagine the instability that would spread. Biggest issue I see: It wouldn't be a matter of if, but when Russia would expand its operations.

There will be pictures of ISIS and the Taliban attacking civilians and governments. There will be universal condemnation and blame that we abandoned our partners.
