What do you think of the three British girls who left the UK to join ISIS?

I am surprised that this topic has not yet been discussed on RallyPoint. These three girls left a presumably "good life" to join with ISIS. My goodness. I'm surprised, but then again, maybe not so much.

I think they may be spoiled brats who had good families and decided to rebel against ... something, whatever. This article actually wants to blame British authorities for "letting" the girls leave. I would say that's the height of lunacy.

I think that they're disillusioned traitors. One could write a PhD-length thesis examining the reasons why those who grow up in middle-class homes in a liberal democracy turn their back on their families, friends and countrymen. I certainly don't have the experience or knowledge to provide any meaningful insight.

On a different note, can Turkey even be considered an ally to any NATO a nation anymore? What I'm hearing in their denials and blame shifting is not terribly unlike their attitude toward the Armenian Genocide. Since Erdogan came into power, I've little else but soft support for ISIS an anti-western rhetoric.

It just crazy, what they think they can achieve by joining isis? they gonna kill you when they don't like you or even rape you.
