If a person needs some drug (alcohol is a drug) to start their day or make it through the day, they may have several psycho-social problems. They should seek medical help and counseling. Then I found other "reasons" when I went to days, on My days off. Then one day I was sitting on the bed with a .45 in My hand. I haven't had a drink since. Detox is a stone bitch. Group can be embarrassing, but You have to be open with yourself and others for it to work. Go sit in an AA meeting, you don't have to say anything, just sit and listen.
