If you go past that, you pay $10 per 50GB. Now, it may seem like a lot data, but isn't depending on what you do.<br /><br />Since the data is capped, they are forcing you to buy their crappy cable services. If you have a family of 4 and 2 two stream shows all hours of the day, you can easily hit 500GB within a month. If you have a playstation and/or xbox, games can run nearly 20GB a piece (that does not include updates). I am sick and tired of COMCAST and what is even worse, they are buying out TWC. COMCAST is a horrible monopoly and there is no other choice for services. They show fake commercials of happy people and send me endless junk mail to upgrade to their TRIPLE play. Who uses a home phone? Anyways, I'm just ranting. I dislike this evil company and how they are stifling innovation. This hurts gamers, webmasters, and families who do not want cable and etc. <br /><br />They are charging for profit, not for network optimization. They changed my DL speeds from 50mbps to 105mbps. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I currently hat AT&amp;T Uverse and the data cap is at 250GB and i never once hit that and while im at work offshore my girlfriend uses Neflix the whole time. When i am home i switch between Netflix, Xbox 360, and PS3. I even download some of the games at about 6GB each or more. That doesnt include the use of cell phones, my tablet, or computers over wifi so its kinda hard to hit that cap actually.

In every state I've lived in, I've had essentially ONE choice of cable/internet provider. Comcast doesn't have to provide good customer service because most customers have NO option to go elsewhere. You'll either pay them for cable or pay them for internet, because they own both.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Comcast and TWC both horrible internet providers. I had comcast in VA and now TWC in NC...they were made for each other. I dont beleive we have a cap, but trying to get stable interent is a struggle.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm currently a TWC customer, and despite all the horror stories, I've really not had any serious problems with them. I am fortunate enough to live in an area where AT&amp;T U verse is also available so that may have something to do with it. The past few years when I have received my annual "your rates are going up" letter from TWC, I call and tell them that U Verse is less expensive (honestly, they are all about the same) and they have quickly offered me a lower price than my current price each time, so now I'm paying less than I was when I moved here in 2006! Granted, I'm not spending the $ for the top speed internet, I think I'm at 20Mbps, but it meet my current needs quite well, and I've never seen anything from TWC on data caps. If they do have them, I obviously haven't exceeded it yet.<br />Having said all of that, I am NOT a fan of the proposed merger with Comcast. I really do hope that the merger is blocked. Both of these companies already have large monopolized areas of the country and a merger will just make them completely insufferable in those areas.<br />At least I do have the option of U verse... but really is a 'lesser of the evils' choice with any cable provider; they are ALL overpriced.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Wow, where to start? I have heard RUMORS of a data cap but as of yet have not seen one from Comcast. Do you realize just how much data 300 Gig is? That is like downloading 300 full length movies a month. That I know of the only way that you can come even close to that is if you're running a server out of your house, and if you are you should have a business account.<br />You say you're sick of Comcast...I've NEVER heard that before! And our merger with Time Warner was blocked by the Senate. There is no monopoly anywhere as there are always other options. We never cross footprints with Time Warner. All the people I've spoken with that have Time Warner were really looking forward to getting our service. My house is full of gamers, my wife and I play games online, my daughter and her boyfriend and his friend all play online and my nephew who lives with us also plays online and most of the time all of us are online all at the same time! As for the FCC needing to get involved, I do believe that they watch Comcast with a microscope.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I actually do work for Time Warner Cable and I will dispel all rumors right now no Comcast is not buying Time Warner Cable that was killed as of last year second we do not have data caps yes consolidation within the cable industry as possibly caused some of the bad service I'm not disagreeing with that. Time Warner Cable is merging with Charter though that is true
