The longer they prolong the pain, the more it's going to hurt. There is no way the government can make debt payments in our current situation. If foreign countries start calling in the debt they hold, we are in real trouble. <br /><br />Giving away our land in loo of debt payments diminishes the US CITIZEN's ability to pursue happiness. A realtor told me that the only asset that is finite is land, it doesn't grow on trees, it can't be dug out of the ground, and once it's bought up, less opportunity is available to the average citizen.Response by Cpl Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 13 at 2015 12:35 AM2015-03-13T00:35:27-04:002015-03-13T00:35:27-04:001SG Private RallyPoint Member527923<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>They can demand all they want. It'd allow you to better sieve through the numerous tin-foil articles out there masquerading as legitimate sources. But per this question, China can demand a softball field and nothing will come of it. There is no US territory that will be given up in payment of a debt. For one no President will allow it (yes, even President Obama for those of you out there. You know who you are), secondly our other two Branches of government will have their say and it will be an emphatic no and thirdly the will of the people cannot be discounted. We may rag on our fellow states; "liberal coasts" "flyover middle" "bible-belt south" "florida" but it is a totally different thing to try to separate us from one another. I do believe a bloody war was fought over such an attempt. China can go pound dirt. This is a non-story.Response by CPT Ahmed Faried made Mar 13 at 2015 9:25 AM2015-03-13T09:25:44-04:002015-03-13T09:25:44-04:00Lt Col Private RallyPoint Member528537<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Give them all of the land on the border with Mexico.Response by Lt Col Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 13 at 2015 11:29 AM2015-03-13T11:29:01-04:002015-03-13T11:29:01-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member528548<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>wouldn't the people that setting this up would be called traitors you know what we do with tradersResponse by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 13 at 2015 11:33 AM2015-03-13T11:33:26-04:002015-03-13T11:33:26-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member528647<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>This better not happen.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 13 at 2015 12:16 PM2015-03-13T12:16:13-04:002015-03-13T12:16:13-04:00Cpl Private RallyPoint Member531351<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think it encourages a red dawn scenarioResponse by Cpl Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 15 at 2015 3:04 AM2015-03-15T03:04:34-04:002015-03-15T03:04:34-04:00LT Private RallyPoint Member531594<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm always amazed at people's inability to understand the basics of national debt.
