Years ago I read a book and wondered how this young man had so much more wisdom than I. It was called: Rhinoceros Success : the Secret to Charging Full Speed Toward Every Opportunity. He began by reciting all the other bromides that had been offered: Dress for Success, Persevere, Use Better Language, etc, etc, etc... He did all these and then lamented that he found himself working for a foul-mouthed millionaire who swore like a farmer plowing a rocky field with a mule and who dressed like a slob, someone who had earned great wealth breaking every rule in every book. He studied this man and discovered that he had succeeded by never deviating from his chosen path, no matter how wrong-headed it was. He simply charged ahead, head-down, ignoring all obstacles and set backs, like a rhinoceros. Dim witted, short-sighted, ugly, nothing stopped him. I still believe this to be true...
