I am sick and tired of whomever is releasing not only this new wiki leaks data but those also releasing classified phone taps as well. It is time to hunt down those involved and gitmo them asap.

Additionally, there needs to be a major investigation on WHY there were even phone taps that caught U.S. Citizens, regardless of what you think about Trump, on calls and recorded them in violation of the 4th Amendment.

While I understand that the release of certain things is not good, I also believe that if government officials and/or agencies are violating the Constitution and our other laws they should be exposed and held accountable.

There are other routes for whistleblowers, and this is definitely not one of them. Over half of me is for a very long prison sentence to whomever gave this information to Assange. The other half wants Congress and our spy agencies to have action taken against them. Lets see how much Congress likes having stuff on them leaked. Most of them are such 'paragons of virtue' that it would be fun to see what shenanigans they are up to. The federal government has no business spying on citizens unless they are pursuing a law enforcement or terrorism related action.

WikiLeaks is not the problem the person who gave them this information should be found and charged. Also this raises a lot more questions about what our government is doing and why it is violating the constitution and other law. A very bad day all around.

My thoughts on the propriety of the leaks themselves aside, what such revealing leaks over the last few years tells me is that maybe the pasty-faced virgins living in their mom's basement wearing tinfoil hats spouting off about secrets and conspiracies may be owed at least SOME measure of vindication by society who has roundly dismissed them for decades.

Extraordinary claims still require extraordinary evidence, but it makes one wonder what else the tinfoil hat people may have been right about all along...

Someone get Mulder and Scully on the phone!

This should not be that hard to run down. Information on sources and methods is pretty tightly held, narrowing the possible suspects list. Access to these particular programs narrows the list further. Things like time stamps and other methods narrow it further still.
I can't imagine that there is that many leakers, probably only one. Finding that guy should be a very high priority.
When we do catch him, I think they should enjoy some quality time in the Leavenworth Detention Facility. The guards can let the inmates know why they're there...

Treason and related charges should be dealt with the old fashioned way: A short drop and a sudden stop, or a bullet to the head.

Such punishments are indeed extreme, but they show that acts against the country's national security will be dealt with in the most severe way possible. It may not stop it forever, but who is going to want to be the next one shown swinging from a gallows on national TV?
