While he was very blunt especially in his second "paragraph," the question about what the administration will do for these four Americans does not seem to me to be especially loaded. Here is the question he asked:<br />"As you well know there are four Americans in Iran. Three held on trumped-up charges, according to your administration, and one whereabouts unknown," he said, referring to Christian pastor Saeed Abedini, retired U.S. Marine Amir Hekmati, Washington Post Tehran bureau chief Jason Rezaian and former FBI agent Robert Levinson, who went missing in Iran years ago.<br />Garrett continued, "Can you tell the country, sir, why you are content with all the fanfare around this deal to leave the conscience of this nation, the strength of this nation, unaccounted for in relation to these four Americans?"<br />What I find especially ironic is that the situation reminds me of the 1979 Tehran hostage situation in the Carter Administration. Both the Carter administration and the Obama administration seem to prefer backdoor diplomacy to a more confrontational diplomacy used by Reagan and Bush II. If you want to make it simple, we just need to refer to the preamble of our declaration of independence, the declaration itself, as well as our constitution and ALL of its amendments.
