Anyone who's walked around with me knows that I'm not a fan of the "you're welcome" response. I'm not serving that individual, nor do I believe that individual is thanking me for my incremental contribution to their personal safety and freedom. I believe that our service to our nation is just that, and while I'm extremely happy that my generation does appreciate the blood, sweat, lives, and tears that we have given for them (sorry, PO2 Sharff, SSG Pride, et. al), it's the nation that thanks and rewards me every day by continuing to be the greatest nation in the world.<br /><br />When someone says thank you to me, I'm proud to say "It's my pleasure."Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 30 at 2015 3:15 PM2015-08-30T15:15:39-04:002015-08-30T15:15:39-04:00Cpl Chris Cargile928494<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>"You're very welcome."Response by Cpl Chris Cargile made Aug 30 at 2015 3:26 PM2015-08-30T15:26:52-04:002015-08-30T15:26:52-04:00SPC Margaret Higgins928555<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>"It's an honor."Response by SPC Margaret Higgins made Aug 30 at 2015 3:59 PM2015-08-30T15:59:09-04:002015-08-30T15:59:09-04:00TSgt Manuel Perez928588<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Thanks you for supporting our country's Armed Forces.Response by TSgt Manuel Perez made Aug 30 at 2015 4:13 PM2015-08-30T16:13:02-04:002015-08-30T16:13:02-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member928930<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I say it's an honor to serve, and I thank them for their unwavering support.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 30 at 2015 7:57 PM2015-08-30T19:57:53-04:002015-08-30T19:57:53-04:00PO1 William "Chip" Nagel929406<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Usually a stumble with my words, Try and be polite as possible and say thank you too for picking up the tab for me to have fun as a World Traveler and Citizen of the World. Impossible to do in a mere sentence or two, then I would try to distinguish those with genuine thanks in their heart and the rest either providing lip service or a conditioned response. So in the end it was taxes/welcome because if were honest , they won't ever really know that they are thanking us for. and that's not a bad thingResponse by CPL Michael E.
