What do you do when your command team is not following Army Regulation, and has IG in their pocket?

I'd love to hear the backstory on why you think IG is in your Command's pocket. More importantly, I'd love to hear what you think IG does or doesn't do.

I don't know how any command team has IG in their pocket, or what your situation is without having any specifics, but utilize open door policies higher than where you're finding difficulty.

Everyone has a supervisor. However if there realy is an issue than you need to have proof.

The first step is to actually read whatever regulation you think is not being followed. most times the problem is not that the regulation is not being followed, but that the soldiers impression of the regulation is completely wrong. Always make sure you are 100% correct before trying to correct a superior.

SSG Private RallyPoint Member, I served as a detailed Deputy Inspector General in two commands, serving under four different IGs. None of them were ever in any CG's pocket. Detailed inspectors general must even swear a special oath that they will uphold the regulations without prejudice or partiality. The situation you describe is certainly one that I never encountered. Sounds like some Army Times/ Army WTF moments stuff here. I dealt with some crooked IGs (same office) before. It took only once and I already knew what was up. But NCOs in my unit at the time got burned pretty bad with a lot of reprisal from it. All over the fact same soldiers were pulling CQ/Staff Duty over and over like 3x in a week. It was a hot mess. But hey, IG said it was legit LOL.

Just learn the regs top to bottom, if you are doing the right thing and can source it with an AR, FM, TM....ect. and do it tactfully there is nothing they can do, because you are in ther clear and they are violating it. ive gone through this alot, minus the IG part.
