To get the conversation started, I believe that the great thing about American Tradition is that it is every tradition. As a nation that prides itself as being a giant melting pot of different people from all over the globe, I believe that the best part about American Tradition is just how much we all celebrate things together regardless of who's tradition it really is. On Cinco de Mayo we are all out partying, St. Patrick's Day is the same thing. We all recognize Thanksgiving and Christmas and we understand the importance of Hannukah or Ramadan. I'd like to think that being "American" translates to being self-sufficient, ambitious, just, brave, compassionate, and optimistic. History however focuses on the blemishes, so we have to keep painting a portrait of what things should be...more than what they often are. I once heard it said like this, "...The poet writes the tune, the warrior gives it words, and the children sing it."Response by LCDR Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 29 at 2018 2:27 PM2018-01-29T14:27:04-05:002018-01-29T14:27:04-05:00SSG William Bruno4642177<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Immigration is an American tradition. Seeking to better yourself and your family is an American tradition. Eating food that your grandma ate in the old country is a very tasty American tradition!Response by SSG William Bruno made May 16 at 2019 6:54 PM2019-05-16T18:54:37-04:002019-05-16T18:54:37-04:002018-01-29T13:16:55-05:00
