I listened and thought it made sense. Mending bridges may encourage their improvement in human rights and who are they going to hurt? Themselves, China, us? For being anti gun in the US, this president has given away more military armaments and relenquished an barriers to global war. Russia gives middles to Iran, we arm Vietnam, we bond with Cuba, perhaps there is a greater trend?

We are a country of forgeters. We forget that Clinton's email and Benghazi screwups. We forget that Obama was going to get us out of wars or was going to be the most open presidency ever. We forget that the Vietnamese slaughtered there own people, our own people and China helped them do it. We forget that we were within minutes of blowing the world up because of Castro.

We don't need anything from Cuba or Vietnam. If they want something from us then let them come ask us for a trade agreement.

I didn't hear it, and really don't care to a point; if WE don't exercise more influence over there, you can bet your ass China and Russia will, and then folks will be screaming why didn't we? An enemy of my enemy is my friend. So if we can indirectly influence then through economic means, we've "won" against the other two. People are already complaining about the Chinese taking over the seas near them and we do nothing, so if Obama takes a preemptive "strike" in the region, it's something the incoming POTUS can carry on. Cuba is going to have a regime change soon being that both of the Castro brothers are very old, and their style of government is crumbling around them. So for the US, it makes PERFECT sense to "normalize" relations with them now, before others gain traction there 90 miles from the FL coast.
