What Did Your Thanksgiving Menu Consist Of. How Did Your Day Go!

Thanksgiving 2015 is history but the memories are forever. I really enjoyed myself with great food, laughter and fellowship with friends and family. My day started out early around 9:00 am with prepping and loading up food to take to the community center. Once I got there, I had to set up the place. Around 2:00 pm, I proceeded back for the dinner. Which consisted of:
Turkey, Ham, Greens, Mac-N-Cheese, Greenbeans, stuffing and many more sides. The desserts was yum-yum with custard sweet potato pie, punch bowl cake too name a few. We said the grace and feast, then it was a lot of dancing and laughter. Missed the NFL football game, cause we were dancing and fellowshipping with each other. Then came home and crashed. Will be eating left overs for the next couple of days.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL Yes is did partner - stayed home and cooked a Chuck Roast for 10 hours with Carrots, celery, potatoes, green beans, garlic, and onions. I really relaxed yesterday. Talked with all the family on the phone and wished them a Happy Thanksgiving. Connected with all the brothers and sisters we have in the Sponsor a Vet Life on Skype, and connected with more veterans needing help. All in all, a great day to give Thanks!

This about sums it up minus the ribs. Add all the other usual foods and it's a wrap for the next few days. If you didn't get the "Itis" then you didn't eat enough...or you're a Cowboys fan and you're eating to console yourself. #HTTR

We live in a complex where we get 2 meals a day. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie. WAY too much. Had a calm and good day.

Turkey, Gravy, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, pie, mashed potatoes, rolls, cranberries on snow...did not watch NFL (Dallas lost anyway), came home about 0100 and crashed. Great day.

We haven't had our Thanksgiving meal yet. I'm with the in laws and we do our Sat(everyone travels in for weekend).

But on the menu for us. I'll be deep frying a turkey, smoking a ham, with all the "fixings". More food than can be ate in a yr..lol. Mother in law goes overboard making sure none go away hungry. I will make some plates and take to some Vets/Soldiers.

We had a thoughtful and thankful Thanksgiving meal SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. My wife and I had dinner with my mother-in-law whose husband of over 60 years died last year; one of our sons whose wife left him for another man last year and an older gentlemen with diabetes whose wife of 50 years left him last year. Part of my brief prayer of thanks was that we are thankful of both the good and bad in our lives. Since God is tin complete control He knows what is best for each of us. Sometimes we go though painful circumstances to develop our character. He wants each of us to be more compassionate.
For dinner we ate turkey, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, green peas, green beans, baked bread with 7 up for the first time and water. For dessert we had cheesecake and pumpkin pie. After dinner I took food to another son who was working that day.

An old friend brought a couple of steaks and the pumpkin pie and the Strongbow Cider. I marinated them overnight with a fine Australian ale and a sage rub. I supplied the baked potato and veggies. I got more of the Strongbow since I didn't have to drive home.

Later a long Facetime chat with wife and #1 son, who are in Texas (I'm up near Seattle). The kid was just back from a trip to Australia to hang out with our grandson for a while.

One really good reason to have been in TX while my son is visiting is that he has risen over the years from line cook to sous chef to chef de cuisine. He also has a side business as a consulting chef. We normally take him to the markets of his choice and say "unlimited budget". In return we get $100/plate dinners if we were doing it at one of his restaurants.

The food here wasn't nearly as spectacular, but I'm pretty good at making steaks happen.

Not much of a Turkey fan so I cooked a rotisserie chicken, stuffing, broccoli & Cauliflower w/ cheese, alfredo pasta, and had planned on an apple pie and a shaker of blue martinis. I didn't get around to baking the pie or fixing the drinks...probably just as well. Spent the day chatting online, working on my ATV and playing HALO. Not a bad day, but some company would have been nice.

Too many turkeys ... my children stop eating at all ... I still love turkeys ... but the rest of my family is a different story.

Went well. My brother's family and our parents came to my house. We had a 12 lb spatchcocked turkey and a 4 lb prime rib, hashed Brussels sprouts with lemon and poppyseed, Roasted cauliflower, mashed potatoes, potato rolls, broccoli casserole, wild mushroom stuffing, pumpkin roll, pumpkin pie, pumpkin gingerbread swirl cheesecake, and apple pie.
