What did you think of Newt's response to Sen Ted Cruz?

Newt Gingrich decided to kick off his own speech with an impromptu attempt to walk back Cruz’s non-endorsement. “I think you misunderstood one paragraph that Ted Cruz, who’s a superb orator, said,” Gingrich insisted. “He said, you can vote your conscience for anyone who would uphold the Constitution. In this election, there is only one candidate who will uphold the Constitution.”

I have never gotten the impression Mr. Trump knows, let alone has read the Constitution.

I think that Newt was starting the damage control ASAP. Cruz still has juice and Newt is smart enough to not want him too far off the reservation. I'm glad that someone started a conversation about this, thanks!
