What civilian job title do you think equals E5 - Sergeant?

How would you translate your military skill set if you were a 92F - Petroleum Supply Specialist in the Army to civilian terms that aren't pipe layer or Gas Pumper. Trying to gear more toward corporate sector.

How many years do you have in? I belong to a college football website which has many petroleum engineers and oil executives, and broached the question to them. I hope they will respond. Let's let this play out.

Seems like good experience for somebody to work at a terminal that has a truck rack. I think a better route would be to pursue a tankerman certificaiton. The guys can make pretty decent money. His experience will apply directly. Check out this link.

Supply sergeant who handled POL assets. Depending on his grade, he can probably do management and supervision for any type of warehousing, bulk storage and issue activity in civilian life.

Your subject might have been better directed to those in distribution management, rather than the petroleum industry, because that's the civilian function that covers what military supply guys generally do, regardless of the specific class of assets they may handle (like POL). When your guy builds his civilian resume, I suggest he first researches distribution management and pitch his experience and qualifications in terms that relate to its functions.
