We need to stop chipping away at our fighting spirit in favor of "politics". We need to stop adjusting "culture" to suit manning requirements, and return to adjusting incoming personnel to our culture. We need to fight to win...not maintain. Equipment won't fix lack of spirit and drive. We need leaders who will lead from the front, put their necks out, and make proactive decisions-on the battlefield, and in the barracks. At the end of the day, when all is said and done, the first mission of the military is to kill and defeat the enemies of our nation efficiently, consistently, and professionally. Anything that deters from that needs to be chucked over the side...Response by LCDR Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 1 at 2016 10:12 AM2016-02-01T10:12:49-05:002016-02-01T10:12:49-05:00SFC William Swartz Jr1272667<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Actually listen to the personnel in charge of the military and not hamstring them in the execution of their missions.Response by SFC William Swartz Jr made Feb 1 at 2016 10:13 AM2016-02-01T10:13:04-05:002016-02-01T10:13:04-05:00LTC Marc King1272816<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>From the DoD level a focus on equipment procurment, Force Protection and Training and stop the Social Engineering experiments.Response by LTC Marc King made Feb 1 at 2016 11:20 AM2016-02-01T11:20:51-05:002016-02-01T11:20:51-05:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member1272823<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Base realignment. This would include but not be limited to: an annual budget submitted on time, cuts in federal government size and spending (not just DoD), and federal employee accountability.<br />- Whole of government solutions to foreign problems (and not just military solutions).<br />- Within the military, achieve a better balance among the three poles of modernization, manning, and readiness.<br />- All of the above will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our military in my opinion.Response by COL Jason Smallfield, PMP, CFM, CM made Feb 1 at 2016 1:00 PM2016-02-01T13:00:15-05:002016-02-01T13:00:15-05:00SN Greg Wright1273084<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="747899" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/747899-sgt-joe-labranche">Sgt Joe LaBranche</a> I'd like to see him/her roll back all the PC crap that has no bearing on mission accomplishment. That by itself would fix the vast majority of problems being faced by the military. Secondly, stand up and be a leader! We've had several Presidents over the last few decades, but we haven't had a REAL Commander and Chief in a long time. Set the example for the military. Provide a clear, concise, and realistic mission / objective for the military and ensure it received adequate financing to accomplish it. This can start by abolishing the Dept of Homeland Security because that is the job of the DoD (external - military / CIA / NSA) and DoJ (internal - FBI / local LEO). <br /><br />Those few things would be an excellent start!Response by SFC Justin Scott made Feb 1 at 2016 2:22 PM2016-02-01T14:22:32-05:002016-02-01T14:22:32-05:00MAJ Ken Landgren1273523<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A war president who wants to win and knows how to rally troops.Response by MAJ Ken Landgren made Feb 1 at 2016 4:32 PM2016-02-01T16:32:27-05:002016-02-01T16:32:27-05:00PVT Robert Gresham1274531<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="747899" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/747899-sgt-joe-labranche">Sgt Joe LaBranche</a>, I think it's time for the administration to "bulk up" the Military once again. Our European allies need to know that we actually have their backs, not just a lot of empty words, so we need at least one Division back in Germany....... at least one Armored Brigade, one Infantry Brigade, one Division Artillery unit, an Aviation Regiment and an MI and an ADA Battalion. Without these additions we are unable to support our allies in the case of tensions in Europe.Response by PVT Robert Gresham made Feb 2 at 2016 4:58 AM2016-02-02T04:58:31-05:002016-02-02T04:58:31-05:002016-02-01T09:38:06-05:00
