What can be done to ensure we stay trained just as hard as we have been for the last 2 centuries. It will only end badly for the Marines and leaders who do. Tough and realistic standards based training has been and will continue to be the way forward. We must adhere to the standards in our T&R manuals and stick to PECLs they spell everything out in black in white. Also Counselings, document everything, if they are not meeting the standards, counsel them on. If they continue to be a problem then you have documented their lack of progress and can justify to the chain of command Another problem is fraternization and favoritism, these are problems that will only become worse when we introduce women into the mix. Same standard as we have today. Out biggest issue is how to we handle the unicorn or two that might actually make it. Separate birthing/showering areas etc. My guess is the number that will try will be low once they figure out it isn't like call of duty. Even fewer yet might will it.

The Marine Corps has already done the work on testing this concept. Bad idea, it WILL impact combat readiness and effectiveness of units that have more than a token presence. This is merely more political chicanery being pushed by the left to create an equality that does not exist. Cpl Jeff N. The larger issue is that basic requirements to be a Marine are not, and never have been, equal for males and females. Women go through a segregated boot camp experience, and their physical standards are lower from day one. Change that, and we can begin to have a real conversation about standards.
