Honestly, ignore it. But if that is not possible, stay in touch with your representatives to make sure they know your point of view on what they should be doing.

Pay attention. I'm serious. Free people don't really care much about government. Why should we care? We don't need them for anything beyond the basics; defense, law enforcement, and sideshows. Well, we need to start caring. While we've been ignoring them they've been up to all kinds of mischief. That's why I say, pay attention. All else will follow...

The political system hasn’t changed much since we became a Republic. What has happened is the technology evolvement of information. Now, everyone’s opinion can be heard. The Burr-Hamilton duel comes to mind. Even the violence by the population has been part of our history. The real issue is we are a nation of laws that seem to be unimportant. Our law enforcement have been emasculated by politicians. The start of our healing would require a price that the population will not pay. A good example would be sanctuary cities and the refrain to abolish law enforcement that protect our citizens.

Pay attention, vote, and most importantly don't be a complete tool when discussing politics. A big problem with the current political climate is there is little to no respect in political discourse. This is from either side of the aisle. People are always going to have differing ideas/ideologies (true throughout all of history), so arguments are nothing new, but civility is something we seem to have lost.
