To assuage your wife let her know that you will not be out there on the front lines getting blown up.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 3 at 2020 2:15 AM2020-08-03T02:15:28-04:002020-08-03T02:15:28-04:00CSM Darieus ZaGara6170808<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just like you hear on TB, you will deploy to any number and types of environments. There is no set number or length associated as a standard. You should have your wife join th Family Teadiness Group as soon as you get to your unit. She can join remotely if she is to join you later. You will deploy.Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made Aug 3 at 2020 12:30 PM2020-08-03T12:30:58-04:002020-08-03T12:30:58-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6171211<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Take what I say with a grain of salt as I haven't yet personally deployed, though I can tell you what everyone from my unit said it's like for our MOS. You can expect steady hours, generally 12 on 12 off. You'll be flying from the shelter of course, and generally won't have reason to leave the FOB, so you'll be about as safe as a deployment can get, being that you're in a steel shell on the FOB, which has a filter for CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) filters on it. Everything in life has risk, whether driving a car or operating in a deployed environment. You'll also be able to purchase Wi-Fi, and as such can keep in contact with her during deploymentResponse by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 3 at 2020 2:34 PM2020-08-03T14:34:04-04:002020-08-03T14:34:04-04:00SGM Bill Frazer6171316<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Josh- almost everyone deploys- in fact the service just dumped a bunch of folks last year who couldn't/wouldn't deploy cause that's our job. 15W is drones right? with the range of them you probably won't get in closer than one of the larger FOB's. Tell her that- a safer than being 11B.Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Aug 3 at 2020 3:03 PM2020-08-03T15:03:34-04:002020-08-03T15:03:34-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member6174440<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Grey Eagle...no experience. <br />Shadow...Larger bases (FOB's) or smaller outposts (COP, JSS, OP) on the side of a mountain. Kinda depends on where you go or what the unit wants to do with you. Or you could end up on a deployment (rotation) in Korea or Europe.<br /><br />Expectations...Operate aircraft, fill generators, maintain equipment, keep your respective areas clean.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 4 at 2020 1:32 PM2020-08-04T13:32:05-04:002020-08-04T13:32:05-04:002020-08-03T01:47:27-04:00
