If you want to be a nurse do the pre read for AECP and become an RN/Officer. We are filled up and promotion to SGT on up is gonna be tight. If I could go back that’s what I’d do. Every once in a while a few slots open up. It's not a matter of how much you want them or how qualified you are, there simply aren't seats available. Even the recruiters have the same problem with low density MOS seats such as these. It's a very small field with an even smaller amount of class seats in a year. If/when you do get a seat it will be a class date for 2021 at the earliest. You can only get a seat as a non promotable E4. So if you do a little backwards planning, the SRR is 31 months from graduation, plus 12 for school plus travel to follow on so add 2 more months. That means your report date to school needs to be no later than 45 months from your ETS. If your soonest class date is a year away you need to get a class date by the time you hit three years in service. Assuming you're on the typical 3 years x number weeks contract, that gives you approximately one year or less to get a class date.
My point is that's a small window of time that closely encrouches on your ETS date. So, have a backup plan of when you will pick a different MOS/Duty station, or enroll in SFLTAP immediately. Also, PA school is available through IPAP. It has less pre reqs but the coursework is all army run and it is brutally fast paced. But you get a masters degree when complete.
