This points for you packets now. I wasn't always that way. But not only does it add points but it reflects extremely well on you as a person. If you could always try to volunteer as a local school or a veterans organization. I know MMIA is always looking for help. So does the USO. Your command should have a memorandum about the qualifications for this. The award doesn't specify a time but it is usually set by your command.

College classes are a good start, as are any on-post military education classes. You can always raise your APFT and Weapons Qual. scores as well. Remember that points alone do not make an NCO. You have to have qualities you wish to instill in others, see yourself sacrificing your time and energy for the development of junior Soldiers, and serve as a role model and bearer of standards.

Get your points up. If your MOS doesn't have many e5 slots, change your MOS. You already know what to do to get your e5. Look at the soldiers getting promoted, what do they have that you don't?
