Don't just hired them because it will make your company look better. Having a degree in Avionics, not to many. I looked for 7 months before graduating and still looking. Its sad that so many jobs claim to be Vet Friendly. I am open and honest about my number of Dr appointments and what my disabilities are. Most were very interested until I told them.... Most of them either never called back or had another excuse. No one ever came out and said it, but I'm pretty confident I know why. Some folks have told me to "Keep my mouth shut," but I was raised to be honest and open. But I was fortunate to be able to fall back on my mechanical skills and went to work as a Technician for American Lube Fast in Pensacola, FL. I know it may not be what some see as a "Top Notch Corporate job", but I enjoy my work and earn a good living. Even with the severity of my spinal injuries, I was reassured by all of our management that they were there to help. Mind you that the spinal injury I suffered in 2009 almost cost me the ability to walk. I still have lots of issues and I deal with them. I have been with the company for two months now, and I can say they are on point. There are quirks as with anywhere, but all in all, they really do care. Refreshing to see that even though it is a company, there to make money, their employees come first. Anyone else had similar with the same? SPC(P) Tommy T.
