Every day when I bring my kids to and from school I pass this house and wonder the question, what came first, the garage or the telephone pole? Your opinion?

With the intelligence level being the way it is today I would bet on the telephone being there first. The owner of the house just wanted to confuse people and try to get the power company to move the pole.

Haha SPC Chad Kolod -- I mean to me it seems the house was probably there and them they added the extra poles. Must of expanded the area and this poor smug allowed a telephone phone to be placed dead center of his garage entrance. Either way this is certainly deserving of a picture. The irony, I would laugh literally everytime I drove by. My son (7) King of Puns... He would ride this one out. I can only imagine the clever things my little smarty would come up with. Funny.

I apologize in advance, but I'm gonna go all "nuke" on this... (yes, I'm bored right now).

PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Which was installed first - Garage or Telephone Pole

DATA:
One photograph, good resolution

ANALYSIS:
Facts / Strongly Suggestive Data:
1. The foundation of the home is stone/masonry.
2. The garage appears to be on a slab of some sort.
3. The driveway is asphalt, yet the sidewalk is concrete.
4. The asphalt forms a seamless boundary around the telephone pole.
5. The driveway is significantly wider than necessary for the garage. In fact, it is clear that the driveway was constructed / modified to benefit the owner AND the neighbor.
6. The roof of the garage appears to be newer than that of the house.

Information-based supposition:
Although far from irrefutable, an approximation of the size of the garage door, as compared to the entrance doors, compared to the apparent length of the open area between the pole and the garage door, indicates that a vehicle capable of fitting into an approximately 8' door opening would certainly be capable of negotiating the "entrance vector" for the garage door past the pole.

CONCLUSION:
The owner wanted a garage.
The yard was paved over with asphalt to form the driveway.
The garage was constructed AFTER the pole was installed.

Due to the angle of the photo. I would say the driveway on the left of the pole was a straight shot into the garage without negotiating the pole.

Obviously the telephone pole :-) I mean come one who is crazy enough to have a garage on their house anyways, it's just a glorified cupboard.

I wonder, does the telephone pole add or subtract value from the property?????? I mean I could see it adding value, it's unique in design and very well thought out décor with the pole :-) but the downside is there is electricity on said pole.

I'm guessing the telephone pole came first. I'm also guessing that based on the size of the garage the owner doesn't park his car in it. Rather, he probably uses it as a work shop or man cave.

Finally saw the impossible, a full size truck pulled into the garage
