We just bought a Subaru Outback, which has a decent amount of room, but we also have two dogs, which will take up a good amount of space. I’m thinking about picking up a roof top cargo carrier to get a little extra space. We have a kid on the way so I imagine we’ll use it on future family trips as well. The big names seem to be Thule and Yakima, but I’m open to suggestions of lesser known companies that don’t have the same name recognition but still offer quality equipment. I can't speak for Thule, but so far these Yakima bars have been great and I'd probably buy them again if these ever go kaput.
