I don’t think boot type matter for feet but you could at least get an insole that’s best for your foot. If you want something that’s light, sturdy and dries quick look at the Garmony T8s or the Belleville C320s both are good and both served me well at OCS in benning.Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made May 19 at 2019 1:46 PM2019-05-19T13:46:16-04:002019-05-19T13:46:16-04:00CW5 Jack Cardwell4649833<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Dinner makes some great boots.Response by CW5 Jack Cardwell made May 19 at 2019 3:05 PM2019-05-19T15:05:24-04:002019-05-19T15:05:24-04:001LT Private RallyPoint Member4650380<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Practice and Rocky S2VsResponse by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made May 19 at 2019 6:56 PM2019-05-19T18:56:16-04:002019-05-19T18:56:16-04:00LTC Jason Mackay4650971<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Danner Rivot TFX boots come in wides with a wide toe box. But I do recommend getting something light. Danner and Rocky always seemed too heavy to me, so I stuck to Altama and Belleville.Response by SGT Christopher Hayden made May 20 at 2019 8:07 AM2019-05-20T08:07:55-04:002019-05-20T08:07:55-04:00CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member4652597<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I always wore issued. 40 years and 2 bad knees later, I wish I'd invested in some Danners at the time.Response by CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member made May 20 at 2019 1:03 PM2019-05-20T13:03:48-04:002019-05-20T13:03:48-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member4653207<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I recommend regular issue boots, in your correct size, with a SOPC special from a boot shop. For your flat feet, insoles are more important than boot type as long as your boot is properly fit. The problem most people have is they size their ruck boots off their garisson size. Your feet swell about a half size when you're ruckingResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 20 at 2019 4:23 PM2019-05-20T16:23:26-04:002019-05-20T16:23:26-04:002LT Private RallyPoint Member4653532<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>For the field, I’d recommend using the Rocky S2V. It has great support and they’re for sure, durable. The S2Vs are heavy, but will for sure keep your feet protected against the elements.<br /><br />For rucking in general, go for the Garmont T8. They’re lightweight and provide great mobility for long distance ruck marches.Response by 2LT Private RallyPoint Member made May 20 at 2019 6:07 PM2019-05-20T18:07:56-04:002019-05-20T18:07:56-04:00SGT Louis Perrault4653991<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When it comes to boots and flat feet you and I have the same affliction and a bigger problem. Boots are horrible for flat feet. Buy a boot a 1/2 size larger and get some kind of orthotic gel inside, it should take care of most of the problem. But, you should see a specialist and get inserts made for your feet. The most comfortable boot I have is a motorcycle boot from Milwaukee boot company. Hope it helps.Response by SGT Louis Perrault made May 20 at 2019 8:37 PM2019-05-20T20:37:47-04:002019-05-20T20:37:47-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member4654026<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have the same issue. Make an appointment to see an Ortho doctor. They can give you great insoles and they will make a referral to a civilian doctor who can make custom insoles specifically using your feet molds. <br />Always remember, few of the most important things in life are the things that separate you and the ground; Shoes, Tires and Bed.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 20 at 2019 8:46 PM2019-05-20T20:46:57-04:002019-05-20T20:46:57-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member4655698<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Best walking (rucking) boots I ever used were Bates M1, original pair was purchased at Ranger store outside benning, subsequent pairs purchased at LAPoliceGear.com Now it's called the desert boot 2250Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made May 21 at 2019 11:27 AM2019-05-21T11:27:16-04:002019-05-21T11:27:16-04:00CPL Gary Pifer4657158<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Keep all documents regarding boots..exams...orthopedic devices...as this may come up in disability claims years from now...if I am correct they will claim preexisting...really watch your symptoms and be careful and use the correct verbage... during exams or other issues regarding your feet....Response by CPL Gary Pifer made May 21 at 2019 9:56 PM2019-05-21T21:56:06-04:002019-05-21T21:56:06-04:00SGT Mathew Husen4660210<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Belleville's are real good.Response by SGT Mathew Husen made May 22 at 2019 8:32 PM2019-05-22T20:32:03-04:002019-05-22T20:32:03-04:002019-05-19T13:34:26-04:00
