What are your work hours? How long do you get for lunch?

All my Army life until recently PT was 0630-0730, hygeine till work call which was 0900, an hour and a half lunch from 1130-1300, and departing at 1700. I am going on 17 years.

Now work hours are 0800-lunch, 1 hour lunch break, then departing no earlier than 1700. PT is done before 08 or after 1700. This is partially driven by our DA Civilian hours.

MAJ Private RallyPoint Member Sir, my working hours are just as you said first. I rather do PT in the morning than in the evening, it's a good fresh start for the day.

Being a Firefighter I work 24 hour shifts, 3 out of every 9 days. Any and all meals are consumed "when you can".

When I was in the Army, the typical day started at 0600 with PT and ran through about 1800 or so. Lunch was as you could grab it. Of course, field exercises, deployments, etc. normally involved much longer hours.

Interestingly, that work ethic / work hours practice carries forward with you your entire life. For example, while at the Armed Forces Staff College and the Army War College, classes typically kicked off at around 0830 or so, however, a great number of officers were in by no layer than 0630 and just sat around shooting the bull until classes started.

The same holds true for my civilian career. Rarely do I ever get to work after 0615 or so, even though the normal duty day starts at 0830.

Lunch has always been whenever you can grab it and there has never been a set time. Some days it is 15 minutes or less and others it is an hour or longer. Just depends on the situation.

0630-1600 with 1 hour for lunch whenever work schedule permits. But i get up early and be 1 to 1hr and 30 mins early to do PT before work. It was hard to get adjusted at first because i hate running but i got adjusted easily

Army Life (@ Bragg)- Leadership meeting, 0545, first formation 0615, PT 0630-0730, hygiene/food 0730-0900, work formation (if required) or begin work 0900-1130, Lunch 1130-1300, work 1300 UTC COB.

Civilian Life - Work 0900-1200ish. Gym 12ish - 1300ish. Work 1300ish - 1700ish.

0400 wake up, short PT and shave.
0545 park and check the barracks before formation
0630-0730 PRT
0730-0900 shower, change, check email and set up daily work tasks
0900-UTC work, meetings, work, meetings, work

What is this "lunch" thing y'all speak of?

OK, so my Soldiers get (generally, mission permitting) 1130-1300 lunch, as per unit policy. When facing a heavy workload, it will get split into shift lunches, of 45 minutes each 1130-1215 & 1215-1300, meal card holders first (due to DFAC hours).

For the most part, the Soldiers under my supervision leave around 1700. Most days, I get out of the office between 1830 and 1930.
