What are your thoughts on the DoD's scheduled changes to the imminent danger pay?

This is a subject that comes up in conversation with military friends across multiple pay grades and services.
I've attached a link to the Stripes article to this post.

Just want to get your thoughts on the subject. I can see the valid arguments and debates in regards to making the changes or the desire for service members to keep the pay.

It is the beginning to a lot more benefit losses coming down the pipe from the big house that has no effect on them is all I can say and leave it at that.

While I don't personally agree with the call to reduce imminent danger pay I see it as the DoD's answer to reduce the budget. But again, if you joined the military to get rich I feel really sorry for you.
