What do you need the funding for? Veteranslist.us has some options depending upon your situation.

I've considered creating a campaign for better hardware for my video and music production. Right now, I'm checking Linux Courseware and SProLinux from your website. Though helpfundavet seems to be a competitor, your site is more established.

Thoughts ?

I don't think we are a competitor. We don't do crowd funding. We help Veteran Owned Business with lots of things (mostly free). I have one likely option for you to get funding for something like that and a couple of ways you can minimize the cost of that equipment.

SGT Jacqueem Spratley the funding curve for what you need looks like this:

1. Crowd Funding (FREE) - IF you can get funded
2 Self Fund / or Fund out of Revenue
3. Friends and Family
4. NOW Account (Invoice Funding) - I can help
5. Bank
6. Street Shares - (business loan) - I can help

Those things can be found here: http://www.veteranslist.us/business-resources/
Including money saving free service called: https://vetsmakeadeal.co/

SGT (Join to see) it seems legitimate, however you would have to do some research just to ensure quality assurance. The intent seems legitimate for the cause of supporting our VETS!

It does seem legit. I just connected with a representative of the organization on LinkedIn. Did you take time to browse some of the projects?

I have my doubts, Where does the money actually go?
Just how well paid are the people involved?
Call me jaded.

It doesn't look like they have had a single successful funding campaign yet...

Seems you're correct -

I would try a crowd-funding campaign, but I use open source software . . . free. :/

The $ would simply go to hardware . . .
hmmmmmmm
