All Service Members, especially Leaders, should know other Leaders' ranks. The Sailors that I work with, also work with Marines and when the Marines have a day off, it's often seen as a holiday at work. Things move so much more fluidly without them, honestly. I don't know how it'd be with other branches but seeing as how we would all have different leadership, it would slow things down as it does for our Navy/Marine Corps team. So same post, fine. Working directly with each other, maybe not so much. Arguably, it saves money in the long term by having a large single base, vs various bases for the various branches within the same immediate area. It also opens up the potential of more collaborated/joint training as well.

I think all in all - Joint Service Bases are the way to go when feasible. The only argument not to have different branches of the military serve on the same post would be if we are willing to change our National Security Strategy and our joint doctrine such that the US will not fight in a joint combined arms manner.
