What are your thoughts on GEN(R) Allen's call for a comprehensive response to IS?

GEN(R) Allen should know something about the region...well thought out. If not now...when? When the darkness does fall, true Americans will descend upon it in a rage so furious that it will rattle the souls in hell.

Excellent article, not much to argue against his stance. The challenge we face is that the majority of America still (for some reason) does not see this as OUR problem, they don't see it as an attack against US, they still think it's 'their problem' and we need to just leave it alone. How do we correct that? It would seem that the brutal murder of James Foley would have created the tipping point of public opinion, but while I do see some outrage in the general populous, I'm still not sensing the feeling of urgency that I think should be there. On top of this, we have our politicians who can see no farther than today's polls and the next election. What IS the answer? I believe the time to act IS now, but is the support there from the politicians and the general populous?
