The weather's warming up, the levels are rising...what are you taking out this season? Here's my pride and joy, S/V Lady Anne, at home on Watts Bar.

Got her "in the rough"; a '76 Chrysler 22. Dropped the keel and did the restoration at the father in law's farm over a summer. Did the paint myself and launched her last August. Re-powered with a SailPro 6 hp outboard (4-stroke).

I loved sailing. Sadly, an inner ear problem (Meniere's Disease) made that impractical. Fortunately, I was able to sail on tall ships before my sailing days ended. The Brig Pilgrim out of Dana Point. The topsail schooner California and a couple others. If you're a sailor, don't miss the chance of being a topmast sailor.

My “boat” is a 13’-6” Kayack with a built in trolling motor. Some kayakers like the exercise. This kayaker likes to get where he’s going, and not be worn out getting there.

Well, it took years to get it but a Range Comanche 396V, 200 HP Merc. Bass Fishing! Bass fishing is my joy, although I have had to stop. I spent many years tournament fishing, throughout California, in the days when the bucks we small, unlike today. I would be taking 14 rods all set up for anything the fish can think of to stay out of my boat. One 15 foot rod locker full of every kind of worm, crank, spin, jerk, etc. baits known to man.

I've got a 17'6" Wilderness Systems Tsunami Touring kayak.
I'm approximately 300 miles into a 1200 paddle of the Columbia River.
I didn't get out much last summer, but the year before I was out from February through November.
I've got a Facebook page for friends and family who like to follow my Odyssey, I use a Garmin InReach satcom device that leaves a real time track while I'm on the river.

I'm just waiting for it to get above 50° for a week or so then it's back on the water.

I own a 10' Kayak. I can throw it in the back of the truck with my gear in minutes, and it will maneuver in inches of water. I had a Bass boat, by the time I paid Ins., property taxes, and all the gasoline I lost my interest in fishing. That is just me though, different boats for different folks.

I spend most of my time on my 24’ Chaparral, but I also enjoy my 14’ Old Town canoe and my 10’ Elie Kayak. I love being on the water and what boat I choose depends on the situation. But they are all enjoyable to use.

LCDR Private RallyPoint Member MY last boat was in 1986, the USS Bainbridge CGN-25. I drove the hell out of her for over 3 years, 30 Knots and no smoke! After 14 years of sea duty out of 23 years, I really don't care to see the water anymore. I retired in Vermont and folks ask why would a sailor of 23 years want to live in Vermont? I quickly answer....NO SALT WATER!
