I help as much as I can, I volunteer and raise money for programs. However when it comes to donating money I research each and everything to make sure the money I donate goes to the Veterans or Patients besides going to pay executives and staff.

As for helping the world? When the Veterans, Homeless and Children in MY Country are taken care of I will then worry about the rest of the world.

I feel sometimes people think that sometimes people forget that helping includes your time and efforts as well. As the CEO of a Nonprofit I'm thankful for every dollar some hard working person donates to us yet we sometimes lose site that in addition to money, your physical presence is required.

I suppose you mean other than serving our country - which just about everyone on this site either HAS or cares deeply about. :-)
I feed the homeless once a month in downtown ATL, I tithe 12.5%, I'm a community group (small group) leader (for church), I volunteer as a Pet's For Vets dog trainer and was recently promoted to "Lead Trainer" in Atlanta, I lead Life Lessons in my work place every other week and provide free lunch for the building, oh - and married 33+ years, enjoy my 6 grandchildren, hunt, fish and golf when I find time.

As well I agree that we should concentrate our collective national efforts towards reducing unemployment, veteran suicide, homelessness, failing education system, bloated bureaucracy. Why do we need to focus on the rest of the world, while our own home is being turned into a SH?

I served 33 years in the Army. I donate to many things. I volunteer in several groups, and I am a HS teacher.

I try to be decent to everyone I encounter. I help those who are in need, within my sphere of influence, and will accept my help. But frankly I am more than a little tired of the social justice warriors who demand that every breath I take and penny I spend must support the effort to rectify the latest fad outrage.
