I will be commissioning as a 1st Lutenant soon and wanted to get any tips that I can. I wanted to see what your weekend drills are like, duty assignments, if you've ever been deployed, etc. I wanted to serve in the Army as a 66B because I wanted to be a part of humanitarian efforts in other parts of the country. Is that something that is available to 66B? Any tips and recommendations to a new officer or specific to 66B would be much appreciated and welcomed. Thanks! What are weekend drills, duty assignments, and deployments like for a 66B in the Reserves?2019-12-27T12:37:45-05:001LT Private RallyPoint Member5385839<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Anyone here works as a Army Public Health Nurse 66B on the reservist side? Her duties were to track all DNBIs that involved STIs and conduct interviews/investigations on said STIs. Durine MEDRETE missions, she distributed vitamins and certain de-worming meds to the local populace. She worked within my Preventive Medicine section. What she did during BTAs at her home unit, I have no idea. I know she was assigned to a Combat Support Hospital.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 27 at 2019 1:10 PM2019-12-27T13:10:06-05:002019-12-27T13:10:06-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member5386145<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was a 68D (surgical tech) on the Active side for six years. When I deployed to Afghanistan the only nurses I came across were 66Cs, 66Es, 66Fs, 66Ps, and 66Ss. There is a chance to go on humanitarian missions but the chances are much more slim on the Reserve side since they are few and far between. I transitioned to the Reserves in 2018 and spent one year with a surgical detachment to a Combat Support Hospital. Feel free to add and message me so I can give you a full breakdown of drill weekends.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 27 at 2019 1:49 PM2019-12-27T13:49:11-05:002019-12-27T13:49:11-05:002019-12-27T12:37:45-05:00
