What are the specifics on 92F (Petroleum Supply Specialist)? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-are-the-specifics-on-92f-petroleum-supply-specialist <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Can any 92F out there give me any insight on the MOS. I&#39;m looking to transfer to a QM company and my secondary MOS is 92Y but they asked me if I was willing to reclass to 92F. Before I commit I would like as much info on the MOS as I can get, any I go would help. Thank you. The 92F MOS covers everything from pipeline, I believe most of those units are in the reserves, to Bag farm, to fuel truck. Bag farm can be setting up the system, to running it, moving fuel in and out of the system, a small bag system could be just a fuel point, you have it trucked in off load, and customer, tanks, trucks, fuel tankers etc come and pick up from you. You will learn the various pumps, some about head pressure and how far up a hill that pump can push fuel. How to strap a fuel tank, how to strap a bag for fuel level, how to recirculate fuel thru the filter separator. How to operate tanker etc. But what you do may only be that one thing. I know when I was inspecting in Afghanistan, the unit at an aviation refueling point would only have one 92F and the rest of his team would be soldiers who they assigned to him to teach how to do the job. I could go on but that would be allot of typing. You will do a lot of PMCS to ensure your tankers are running right. They teach you about pipelines at 92F school, but honestly, you may never even work with one. Pretty simple job, although most of the time it may be extremely boring, and you might be pulled to do other things. It really depends. But I don’t think it’s that bad. When your fueling, it’s quite enjoyable. Career progression is not easy for a 92F. Since you&#39;re already an E6, you&#39;d have to look at the career progression map and see whats best for you. More than likely you&#39;ll be a section sgt or platoon sgt in some cases. You&#39;ll be running FARP&#39;s, Bag farms (if any), you&#39;ll be responsible for fuel accountability, you&#39;ll be doing back to back to back gunneries and missions if you happen to go to aviation. They say aviation is nice but don&#39;t let them fool you. You&#39;d want to do the recruiting, drill, sharp, EO and all that jazz to get E7 or wait 10+ years to make it. E7&#39;s typically do plt sgt time and then you may get SPO. That&#39;s usually a brigade level job. I was stationed out in Alaska. 92F like any other MOS has its ups and downs. As far as progression goes, there is none. I hardly see E5s promoted and I’ve only seen one E-6 promoted to E-7. The equipment is shit and all the pmcs is enough to drive you crazy. God forbid you get a shit unit with guys who just don’t give a damn, I truly hope that doesn’t happen to you. Lots of field time and downtime. The reason I ask is 80% of the Army&#39;s fuelers is in the reserves. So, as far as career progression goes you can go a lot further in the reserves, but if you are active duty don&#39;t do it as most don&#39;t make it past E5.... Since the reserves does not have any combat arms units, many consider 92F&#39;s to be the combat MOS for the reserves along with MP&#39;s. My suggestion... Go Warrant... In the fields, you&#39;re constantly distributing fuel as it is a top priority. I would stay where you&#39;re at or try going warrant.
