What are the secrets of being a Warrant Officer?

We've all heard of the E4 Mafia and how they have a stranglehold over getting out of everything the Army does, but what isn't discussed are the secrets of the Warrant Officer Corps. Why are they not in any formation? How do they do APFT's? Do they even do APFT's? Do they loose the use of the NCO mind trick? Does a CW2 have to stand at attention for a CW2(P)? Do they know what saluting is? Why are they the only ones who can laugh with the CSM?SGM? Why is it they can put their hands in their pockets and dare someone to call them out? Inquiring minds wanna know!! Before the butthurt begins, this is a JOKE!!! Mondays are too serious as it is, not to let a little humor in.

It's been my experience that if you want to continue to utilize that Chief for his vast amount of knowledge, experience, and expertise, then you won't waste time asking these questions. You'll just ask that Chief what you need to know! :P

What is the secret? While I am no WO, I can only guess that they do their stuff so awesomely that they don't need to be in formation and are allowed to do whatever they want. Again, this is just speculation.

I am in the Air Force so unfortunately I don't know much about WOs other than some of the Army WO pilots we have here but I always was under the assumption that being a Warrant Officer is essentially something for NCOs who miss their days in the E4 mafia.

Some of the best and brightest soldiers I ever met while I was working on Division Staff were Warrant Officers. When a for real technical answer was needed the search was on for a Warrant. And once you could find one J/K... They always had the right answer, and were a great resource for planning and understanding how to integrate for example fire calls into any plan.

Well, everyone knows you only get about 2-5 questions from a warrant a day, you don't waste it asking why he wasn't at formation or any other trivial question, because when you need a warrant, you NEED a warrant.
