A little bit of advice, don't train for the minimum standards, train for the max. While I was on active duty I never knew what the minimum was for me because I didn't care. I only wanted to know what I had to do to get the max. I didn't always hit the max on each event, but I also never had to worry about whether or not I would pass. As a Cav Scout your physical demand category should be Heavy. The maximum standard is the same for all MOS's, the minimum standard for the heavy category is 70 points in each event. Additionally, as a Cav Scout, you will also need to be able to name all the main characters from My Little Pony. For more information on the ACFT see the link below. Work on your back muscles and pull-ups so you can do leg tucks. Work on leg strength and endurance and you’ll be fine. Pull up an ay APFT calculator, or look at a DA Form 705 chart for your age group. Once you get to AIT, you'll have to get at least 60 points in each event. The new ACFT will become official this October. I am a recruiter and we just had a soldier come back home this week after training and told us that both PT are being done right now during training. However, the APFT is the only graduation requirement at this moment.
