I would get my leadership time in first and then do special assignment. According to our Career Management Field, you need 24 to 36 months Squad Leader/ Section Sergeant time. If you were/ are a Squad Leader as an E-5 (P), once you make Staff Sergeant, that time did does not count. The board looks at your last 5 NCOER&#39;S so get your 24 to 36 months done on the line and then get your special duty time.
